Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Visiting Instructor of Social Work to join our team at Texas Southern University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate social work courses, connecting at-risk students with supportive services, and submitting student progress reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach classes in the Social Work Department, including undergraduate courses
  • Connect at-risk students with appropriate supportive services, such as the Student Accessibility Services Office, campus tutoring, and the Counseling Center
  • Submit student progress reports, midterm grades, attendance reports, and final grades on time
  • Collect and report data required for the Social Work Department Assessment and Strategic Plan
  • Attend required university, college, and departmental meetings and trainings
  • Provide academic advisement to social work majors
Requirements
  • Master's degree (MA/MS/AM/MASW/MSSW/MSW) from a CSWE-accredited social work program
  • Minimum of one year of professional social work practice or teaching experience
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work with culturally diverse faculty and students
