Job Summary

Zachry Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Janitorial Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our work sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform a wide range of manual activities, including moving equipment, digging, and retrieving equipment, as instructed by supervisors or journeyman.
  • Fire Safety: Use fire extinguishers and stand by for fire safety as needed.
  • Structural Access: Climb onto structures and scaffolding to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Rigging and Hoisting: Use rigging and hoisting devices to move equipment and materials into place.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks, such as lubrication and repair of worn parts.
  • Supervisory Direction: Follow direction from supervisors and take initiative to complete tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Former Zachry Group employee or experience working on industrial construction or maintenance sites.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic mechanical knowledge and formal/technical education.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Hand Tool and Power Tool Knowledge: Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Good problem-solving abilities and aptitude for manual dexterity.
  • Communication: Good communication skills with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with others as a team player.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs, as well as work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and Walking: Employee will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
  • Visual Abilities: Ability to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
