About the Role

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in the success of AFL's fiber optic cable projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing job plans by coordinating and scheduling assignments, coordinating materials logistics, crews, and tools required to complete projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fixed cost proposal designs, developments, and implementations for various systems, including structured cabling, security, wireless, VOIP, public address, and CATV, with a national focus.
  • Manage and report the current status of fixed bid project schedules, scopes, and budget/cost in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute regular performance and status reports as required.
  • Manage material resources and conduct site surveys, quality checks, and job audits.
  • Provide exceptional customer support, including interfacing with customers, providing guidance on problem resolution, ensuring on-time customer service, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Understand, adhere to, and promote AFL's Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field or a minimum of three years of equivalent experience in a similar technical management position.
  • Extensive relevant technical experience, including a fundamental understanding of voice and data networking, structured cabling, fiber optics, routing, and switching.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present presentations.
  • Public speaking experience is preferred, as is current industry-related licenses and certifications.

Working Conditions

  • Use of standard office equipment, small hand tools, and power tools.
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
  • Carrying of loads up and down stairs.
  • General hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours.
  • Travel required.
