We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at ECMC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services to ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, monitoring fluid input and output, and performing simple treatments and dressings.
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, oral care, and shaving.
- Feed patients or assist with feeding, pass and collect trays and nourishments.
- Apply anti-embolic stockings, ace wraps, and other medical devices as needed.
- Clean and maintain patient care areas, including bedside stands and bathrooms.
- Transfer patients safely and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Provide direct supervision and observation of patients who are at risk for harming themselves or others.
- Working knowledge of first aid techniques and patient care procedures.
- Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work well with others and provide excellent customer service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an ECMC-approved provider within 60 days of appointment.
This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to patients with varying medical conditions. The ability to work effectively in a team setting and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations is essential.
