Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems, including substation protection and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical power systems, including substation protection and control systems
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in a lead engineer capacity
  • Perform studies and create reports for coordination, voltage drop, fault current, and installation coordination
  • Oversee the work of junior staff and mentor designers/drafters
  • Collaborate, communicate, and liaise effectively with other design disciplines, colleagues, construction contractors, consultants, material suppliers, and clients
Requirements:
  • 4+ years utility substation P&C design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as: NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA and ANSI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of substation P&C design experience
  • AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Bluebeam experience
  • Proficiency with SEL or GE relays
  • SCADA system & communications interface knowledge
