Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Utilizes available resources to advocate for the safe and timely delivery of healthcare, ensuring integration of services that uphold best practices in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Conducts infection prevention surveillance utilizing advanced software tools.
- Analyzes healthcare-associated cases, documenting and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Implements appropriate isolation precautions for patients with infections and updates patient records accordingly.
- Communicates reportable diseases to the appropriate health authorities.
- Performs routine compliance rounds to ensure adherence to infection control policies and shares insights with leadership.
- Participates in Environment of Care Rounds, documenting observations accurately.
- Reviews and approves Infection Control risk assessments for construction projects in collaboration with facilities management.
- Develops educational materials on infection prevention for staff and healthcare providers.
- Acts as a resource for staff inquiries regarding infection prevention and control.
- Ensures a sanitary environment within the facility.
- Engages in facility and system committees as required.
- Addresses risks associated with patient infections present upon admission.
- Mitigates risks contributing to healthcare-associated infections.
- Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving abilities in routine and complex situations.

· Attends organizational meetings to stay informed and engaged.
· Utilizes medical center resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience required.
- Maintains competencies and skills in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
- Active Registered Nursing Licensure in Ohio or national licensure in a relevant clinical area.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control is required upon hire or within two years.
- Occasional travel to other facilities may be necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing requirements.
- Frequent use of electronic medical records and research on best practices.
- Provides education and support to hospital units and service areas.
