We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Department of State Hospitals. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will work under the administrative direction of the Program Assistant and under the clinical direction of the Chief Psychologist and the local Senior Psychologist Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Apply psychological knowledge and techniques to address mental and developmental disabilities in children, adolescents, and adults.
- Conduct various forms of group and individual therapy, evaluate programs, provide training, and serve as consultants.
- Develop and implement behavioral interventions for high-risk medical refusers, including individual and group psychotherapy, specialized treatment interventions, and crisis intervention.
- Complete initial psychological assessments (APAs), psychological evaluations, and assessments as required, including selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological tests.
- Assist with suicide and homicide risk assessment, document psychological services, and assist in preparation of treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, progress reviews, and dispositional staffing's, and consult with the team psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care.
- A Drug Screening must be passed prior to being hired.
- A Background Investigation must be cleared prior to being hired.
- Medical Clearance must be obtained prior to being hired.
Patton State Hospital is a forensic psychiatric hospital established in 1890 and opened in 1893. The hospital provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area.
