Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Department of State Hospitals. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will work under the administrative direction of the Program Assistant and under the clinical direction of the Chief Psychologist and the local Senior Psychologist Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Apply psychological knowledge and techniques to the problems of mental and developmental disabilities in children, adolescents, and adults.
- Conduct various forms of group and individual therapy, evaluate programs, provide training, and serve as consultants.
- Conduct treatment interventions, including individual and group psychotherapy, specialized treatment interventions, and crisis intervention.
- Write and implement behavior plans, develop and implement behavioral interventions for high-risk medical refusers.
- Complete initial psychological assessments (APAs), and psychological evaluations and assessments as required.
- Complete forensic evaluations, including risk assessments, competency assessments, malingering assessments, and court reports.
- Assist with suicide and homicide risk assessment.
- Document psychological services, assist in preparation of treatment plans, and write progress notes for patients on caseload.
- Participate with the interdisciplinary team in scheduled treatment team meetings, progress reviews, and dispositional staffing's.
- Attend morning meetings, consult with the team psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care.
- Interact with outside agencies as needed, serve as a qualified expert witness when required by the courts.
- A Drug Screening must be passed prior to being hired.
- A Background Investigation must be cleared prior to being hired.
- Medical Clearance must be obtained prior to being hired.
