Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Leader - Home Relief Assistant to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of the department, maximizing financial opportunities, and assuming management responsibilities in the absence of the Home Merchandising Assistant Manager and Home Operations Assistant Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Model "Customer 1st" behavior and deliver excellent customer service to our customers.
  • Sales and Marketing: Teach and demonstrate selling skills to our sales team and promote company initiatives.
  • Operations: Assist with the management of the department, including processing special orders, maintaining stockroom fixture bay and review bay dating, and verifying all read and signs are completed.
  • Training and Development: Train associates and follow up on training needs to ensure our team is equipped to provide excellent customer service.
  • Inventory Management: Process salvage, returns, call backs, recalls, and review write offs to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Communication: Communicate daily tours, sales, and goals to staff and promote company initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, plus a minimum of six months of Fred Meyer experience and one year related retail experience.
  • Skills: Ability to pass drug test, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to work weekends on a regular basis, and ability to travel independently on a rare basis.
  • Qualifications: Minimum 18 years of age, ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy/attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects, familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes, and ability to work within set time frames.
