Job Title: Assistant Professor, School of Social Work

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our School of Social Work at California State University, Chico. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and engaging in service activities that promote the mission of the university.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in social work, including direct practice skills, assessment, program evaluations, policy analysis, and social advocacy.
  • Conduct research and scholarship in social work, with a focus on advancing diversity and inclusivity in social work education and practice.
  • Engage in service activities that promote the mission of the university, including committee work, community outreach, and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) and a terminal degree (e.g., DSW, PhD, EdD) in Social Work or a related field.
  • Two years of post-MSW practice experience, with a focus on teaching, research, and service.
  • Ability to utilize educational technology, including online and hybrid course delivery.
  • Interpersonal skills that facilitate communication and connection across diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including Latinx, Hmong, Indigenous, Native American, LGBTQIA+, and individuals from rural Northern California communities.
  • Ability to teach bilingual and bicultural training curriculum to advance diversity and inclusivity in social work education and practice.
