Position Overview
This role is responsible for steering and managing all financial operations within the organization, including the generation of timely financial reports and forecasts that support business growth and provide insights into the economic landscape.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of comprehensive financial reports, encompassing income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax documentation, and compliance reports for regulatory bodies.
• Supervise accounting teams, oversee budget formulation, and manage audit processes. Engage regularly with department leaders to ensure alignment and provide guidance.
• Evaluate reports to compare profit projections with actual results, assess budgeted expenses against final figures, and recommend enhancements to the planning process as necessary.
• Conduct operational analyses to identify potential opportunities for restructuring, downsizing, or elimination of inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to synchronize and prioritize strategic planning initiatives.
• Investigate long-term economic trends and assess the company's growth potential in sales and market share, as well as opportunities for acquisitions or diversification into new product lines. Estimate needs for capital, real estate, and workforce expansion.
• Oversee the investment of funds; liaise with financial institutions and investment advisors to secure additional capital for growth initiatives.
• Participate in governance by serving on boards of directors or management committees.
• Appoint and delegate responsibilities to department heads or managers.
• Manage cash disbursements for corporate and divisional expenses in accordance with established policies.
• Project short-term and long-term cash needs and obligations to ensure sufficient liquidity.
• Ensure financial integrity through regular audits and provide necessary information to external auditors.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; CPA designation is advantageous.
Required Knowledge: Proficient in database and accounting software systems to deliver precise financial data.
Experience: 8-10 years in banking with a focus on financial management and loan oversight; 2+ years in a leadership role.
Skills/Abilities: Detail-oriented, excellent written and verbal communication, adept at multitasking, strong customer service orientation, effective leadership, self-motivated, organized, analytical, and proficient in time management.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
• Capable of hearing standard conversations in an office setting.
• Regularly required to type and use a mouse.
• Specific vision capabilities including close vision and depth perception.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds unassisted and maintain various physical postures for extended periods.
Working Environment
Professional office setting with climate control and adequate lighting. May require occasional travel to different branches and meetings outside of standard business hours.
Mental Requirements
• Ability to navigate a variety of variables with limited standardization.
• Strong numerical skills for basic calculations.
• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting documents.
