Educational Requirements:
  • Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services.
  • Preferred: Graduate degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline.

Certifications:
  • First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Behavior Intervention certifications are required.

Professional Experience:
  • Required: At least one year of relevant experience or training, particularly in crisis intervention.
  • Preferred: Experience in child welfare, case management, and working with immigrant populations is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations relevant to this role.
  • Manage a caseload in line with agency policies and licensing standards.
  • Engage in professional development through workshops and seminars.
  • Maintain regular contact with children and families on your caseload.
  • Continuously evaluate changes in circumstances that may impact child safety.
  • Provide guidance and support to crisis line staff to ensure effective responses to crisis situations.
  • Involve children and their sponsors actively in the casework process.
  • Document progress made by children and their families towards achieving service goals.
  • Compile and maintain accurate records and reports as per agency policies.
  • Participate in weekly case discussions with team members and contracted staff.
  • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Implement safety protocols during emergencies, ensuring the safety of children and staff.
  • Uphold confidentiality in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Adhere to professional and ethical standards as outlined in the employee handbook.

Additional Duties:
  • Coordinate service planning and documentation for assigned cases.
  • Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal representatives and immigration courts.
  • Respond to crisis calls and provide necessary support to families.
  • Engage in regular supervision sessions with your supervisor.
  • Travel between locations as necessary for case management.
  • Meet all deadlines set by program supervisors and federal partners.
  • Support and recruit foster parents as part of foster care programs.

Qualifications:
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with random screenings during employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility when requested.
  • Pass background checks as required.

Skills Required:
  • Ability to respond sensitively to the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the service population.
  • Collaborative approach to working with team members and service providers.
  • Capability to provide crisis intervention as per training guidelines.
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using technology to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
