Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks outlined in repair orders efficiently and in line with dealership standards.
  • Conduct test drives and evaluate vehicle components and systems using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Communicate directly with Service Advisors and the Service Manager to keep customers informed about additional services or repairs needed, along with estimated timeframes.
  • Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience in a service department
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good dexterity, requiring steady hands and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive and friendly attitude with a customer-focused mindset
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with effective communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, repair methods, and specifications
  • Ability to understand electronic diagnostic equipment
