Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks outlined in repair orders efficiently and in line with dealership standards.
- Conduct test drives and evaluate vehicle components and systems using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate directly with Service Advisors and the Service Manager to keep customers informed about additional services or repairs needed, along with estimated timeframes.
- Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Some experience in a service department
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good dexterity, requiring steady hands and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Positive and friendly attitude with a customer-focused mindset
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies, repair methods, and specifications
- Ability to understand electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license
