Job Summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Engine Materials and Processes Leader to join our team of innovators. As a key member of our spaceflight systems team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of materials and processes for our engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop aerospace hardware, including propulsion systems
  • Manage and organize materials and process-related data in a company-accessible database
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure the safe and repeatable operation of our spaceflight systems
Requirements
  • 5 years of directly related experience in materials and processes for aerospace hardware
  • Minimum B.S. in Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis methods and related tools
  • Strong written and personal computer skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or PhD in Material Science/Engineering or related field
  • Direct experience managing or leading engineering teams, preferably in aerospace hardware
  • Demonstrated experience developing new aerospace processes and refining existing ones
  • Proven experience managing technology development projects, measuring technical progress, resources, and managing budgets
