Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform age-specific assessments to determine patient respiratory care needs
  • Provide education and therapy to patients, as ordered by physicians
  • Organize and evaluate patient care, ensuring effective treatment and documentation
  • Manage and care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, respiratory treatment, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support
  • Perform diagnostic tests, including ABGs, ECGs, Holter Monitor setups, Event Monitor setups, and bedside PFTs
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
  • Current RT license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska
  • Registered as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one month of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within one year of hire
