About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our team at Baker Commodities Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and equipment lubrication
  • Inspect and test equipment to identify malfunctions
  • Repair and replace engine systems, including aftertreatment, transmission, and air brake systems
  • Fabricate and replace parts as needed
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including hydraulic jacks and hoists
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; maintenance vocational education training preferred
  • 2 years experience in an enclosed garage maintenance manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of commercial vehicle operating systems
  • Ability to arc weld and MIG weld
  • Certification for air brake system repairs
  • Must have own tools
  • Ability to use English to communicate verbally and in writing
Physical Demands

This role requires constant standing, walking, and lifting, as well as frequent use of heavy equipment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
