Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions: Oversee all financial transactions, including credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable process.
  • Data Entry: Implement extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software.
  • Invoice Management: Resolve any invoice issues, and process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on-time.
  • Financial Reporting: Safeguard the accuracy of the general ledger and journal entries, prepare balance sheets, and financial reports.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Update and maintain accurate financial records, contracts, annual budgets, tax reports, and financial statements.
  • Payroll Management: Manage payroll duties to ensure employees are paid on time.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial statements.
  • Transaction Recording: Properly record financial transactions.
  • Transaction Verification: Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in accounting, or business, or related field is preferred - high school diploma is required.
  • Skills: Exceptional organization, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are important.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
  • Experience: 2+ years of work experience at an accounting firm or as a bookkeeper, cost accountant, management accountant, or similar position.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Exceptional knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
