The Role:

This position requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting. As an Ambulatory Medical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, obtaining vital signs, preparing examination rooms, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document patient information, including reason for visit, weight, vital signs, and medication review
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms between cases
  • Assist patients as needed to prepare for visits with providers
  • Provide direct patient care as directed by providers, including performing EKGs, wound dressings, and supporting minor surgical procedures
  • Administer medications according to policy and procedure
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform phlebotomy and assist with laboratory functions
  • Support receptionist and clerical duties, including matching and filing reports, and creating accurate medical records
  • Use electronic medical records and scheduling systems as designated
  • Facilitate timely appointments, complete referrals, and collect copayments

What We Offer:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support Certification and Licensed Practical Nurse license required
