Job Description

This is a dynamic opportunity to join our team as a Behavioral Health Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring client behavior and activities, reporting any concerns to relevant authorities;
  • Serving as a positive role model and utilizing approved behavior modification techniques;
  • Participating in basic life skills activities;
  • Processing admissions and discharges, orienting clients to the facility and explaining rules and policies;
  • Completing required program documentation and reports;
  • Documenting client activities, behavior patterns, and changes;
  • Ensuring clients adhere to established schedules and routines;
  • Obtaining required program information and inventories client valuables;
  • Collecting urine specimens and completing paperwork;
  • Conducting security and safety checks, monitoring visitors and contraband;
  • Performing general office and public contact duties;
  • Participating in meetings and conversing with staff on client progress;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Six months of related human services experience (preferably certified as a Behavioral Health Technician);
  • The ability to handle verbally and physically abusive clients and utilize aggression control techniques;
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations;
  • Knowledge of The Mandt System and the ability to prepare and maintain written documentation.
