We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our Last Mile Technology team. As a key member of our Emerging Business and Technology team, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision and strategy for our systems, ensuring they meet the needs of Amazon's rapidly growing global Last Mile network.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of software engineers in developing and maintaining software that optimizes our transportation network
- Establish and maintain engineering and operational excellence metrics, and implement a consistent process for assessment and improvement
- Develop and implement a project management framework and excellent development processes to deliver high-quality software in rapid iterations
- Mentor and develop engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
- Represent the technical organization and communicate with senior leadership to drive technical excellence and innovation
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers
