Job Title: Histology Technician

Join All Med Search in our state-of-the-art laboratory, serving 14 hospitals and Emergency Departments in the Nashville area.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform histology and cytology procedures, including specimen processing, fixation, cell block preparation, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, routine stains, IHC, and special stains.
  • Ensure accurate sample, block, and slide identification.
  • Prepare and maintain reagents for routine stains and histology procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and instrumentation according to manufacturer and department procedures.
  • Adhere to department policies regarding quality control and quality assurance for instrumentation, equipment, and procedures performed.
  • Utilize independent judgment and problem-solving skills to ensure accuracy and proper equipment performance.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Chemistry, Biology, or completion of an accredited program in Histotechnology, plus one year of histology experience.
  • OR Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
  • National Certification as a HT/HLT (ASCP) required.
  • Thorough knowledge of histology methods and correlation to disease processes.
  • Ability to follow protocols for proper fixation and routine staining of samples.
  • Ability to consistently prepare and produce specimen sections with appropriate slide orientation, thickness, and stain quality for microscopic diagnosis by a pathologist.
  • Demonstrates good technique in cutting, embedding, orientation, and staining of specimens.
  • General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Effective and proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.

A $15,000 sign-on bonus and relocation package are available.
