Job Title: Site Technician

We are seeking a skilled Site Technician to join our team at Konecranes Nuclear Equip and Services LLC. As a Site Technician, you will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at various customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine the cause of equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs.
  • Perform general post-repair audits to ensure all required safety features are functional or document deficiencies and attach a deficiency tag to the crane.
  • Document findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer, including a written "Safety Notification" of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate.
  • Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety-related issues and discuss recommendations to assist them in improving their material handling applications.
  • Complete and provide proper electronic documentation using established company digital tools, obtaining the customer's signature and acceptance.
  • Produce sales leads during service calls and report to the service office, following established guidelines.
  • Read and understand the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other codes or regulations of our industry, refreshing and updating knowledge periodically.
  • Complete service reports and other required documents in an accurate, neat, and legible manner and submit them promptly and following established guidelines.
  • Communicate with the service office and planner, following established practices.
  • Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in a safe and proper working order, operating tools, equipment, and vehicles, and notifying the supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
  • Maintain a supply of forms, literature, inventory, and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle, documenting use or sale to the customer.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
  • Maintain company vehicles and uniforms.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair.
  • Some electronic experience is beneficial, but not necessary.
  • Prior experience with cranes is a plus.
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work off the ground and be available for "on-call" as part of the service office rotation.
  • Must be able to travel and work out of town, on occasion.

  • Competitive salary range: $22-$48 per hour.

  • 2 weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated for the first year depending on start date), increasing to 3 weeks after 5-12 years of service and 4 weeks after 13+ years of service.
  • 5 days of sick leave per year, pro-rated the first year after 90 days of service.
  • 10 paid holidays per year.
