Job Summary:

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Trinity Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing various clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reporting abnormal or atypical results to appropriate personnel. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

* Performs qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests on patient specimens, following established standards and practices.
* Analyzes test results and prepares samples for testing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory principles and clinical significance, using expertise to inform daily decisions.
* Maintains quality control and equipment maintenance, calibrating and operating laboratory equipment as needed.
* Notifies personnel of problems, such as unacceptable specimens or equipment malfunctions, in accordance with department policy.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college or university.
* Relevant work experience in a medical laboratory setting preferred.
* Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - ASCP, or NCLS certification preferred.
