Independent Mortgage Field Inspectors Wanted for Occupancy Verifications
6 days ago
FAR Inspections, a leading provider of residential occupancy verifications, is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as independent contractors. With over 9 years of experience in the industry, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for mortgage lenders across Reno, NV.
Salary and BenefitsAs an independent contractor, you will earn a flat rate per inspection, which translates to $20-$30 per hour, depending on the county and volume of work. With a flexible schedule and consistent month-to-month work, you can earn predictable full-time or supplemental income.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for inspectors who can effectively manage time and meet deadlines to perform residential occupancy verifications. The purpose of these inspections is to verify property occupancy, report on the general condition of the property, and take photos using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior-only, but about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
- To verify property occupancy and report on its general condition.
- To take high-quality photos of the property with brief comments.
You will be responsible for completing all inspections in your assigned county, with the possibility of splitting the county with another inspector if there is enough volume. Responsibilities include:
- Completing inspections within 4 days of assignment.
- Reporting general property conditions and making a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
- Taking 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Completing a short form in an app.
To be considered for this position, you must have the following:
- A computer with an internet connection.
- A reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus, as you will be paying for your own gas).
- A smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- A printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
This is a 1099 position, and each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume, but you will earn the equivalent of $20-$30 per hour. You will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week, depending on the county and its urban or rural nature. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month. You can earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory.
