Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Development Coordinator - RN to join our team at Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services. As a key member of our nursing management team, you will be responsible for coordinating the staff development program, providing orientation to new employees, and conducting training sessions on various topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive staff development program to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing staff.
  • Provide orientation to new employees, ensuring they understand our facility's policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Conduct training sessions on topics such as blood-borne pathogens, hazard communication standards, and nurse aide training.
  • Collaborate with the nursing management team to review incident reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure that work assignments are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Make decisions regarding nursing problems and provide guidance to staff members.
  • Teach, instruct, and direct orientation, continuing education, and in-services to nursing staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a current, valid RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Five years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting, and/or nursing education experience.
  • Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to supervise nursing staff and make decisions regarding nursing problems.
