Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Development Program Coordination: Develop and implement a comprehensive staff development program that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Personnel Health Nurse: Provide health-related services to employees, including health screenings, vaccinations, and other health-related activities.
  • Orientation and Training: Design and deliver orientation programs for new employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties effectively.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions on various topics, including blood-borne pathogens, hazard communication standards, and other health-related topics.
  • Nurse Aide Training Program: Serve as the primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program, ensuring that students meet the necessary requirements and standards.
  • Workshop and In-Service Coordination: Coordinate and schedule workshops, in-services, and other training activities to promote employee development and engagement.
  • Incident Reporting and Review: Assist the Nursing Management Team in reviewing incident reports, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Charge Nurse and Supervisor: Work as a charge nurse and/or supervisor as needed to ensure the smooth operation of nursing services.

Requirements:

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited School of Nursing with a current, valid RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Experience: Five years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting, and/or nursing education experience.
  • Skills: Ability to provide quality nursing care, genuine interest in geriatric nursing, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required.
