Project Engineer Job Description

At Dragados, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project meetings to collect and disseminate information, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Review and resolve technical specifications and drawings, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between the company and the owner, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve an on-time result, including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items.
  • Create bill of materials, referencing project drawings and specifications.
  • Review quotations, utilizing supplier information, cost standards, and technical information from quality, manufacturing, engineering, and design.
  • Determine the possibility of conflicts or delays in the construction process by reviewing project drawings, analyzing the process to determine likelihood of detection and resulting effect, and suggesting preventative steps for correction.
  • Ensure project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process.
  • Manage subcontractors and change orders on project.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a construction firm.
  • Construction experience in heavy civil projects.
  • Field experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer License preferred.
  • Goal-oriented, able to set goals and achieve them.
  • Interpersonal skills, able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels.
  • Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Project.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software is a plus.
