Role Responsibilities

The Automotive Parts Counter Associate will be responsible for:

  1. Customer Interaction:
  • Welcoming customers with a professional demeanor and providing outstanding service.
  • Assisting customers in identifying and sourcing the appropriate parts for their vehicles.
  • Responding to inquiries and offering informed product recommendations.
  • Processing orders with precision and efficiency.
  1. Parts Identification:
  • Utilizing catalogs and computerized systems to locate necessary parts.
  • Researching parts for older or rare vehicle models.
  • Collaborating with team members and suppliers to procure out-of-stock items.
  • Providing customers with accurate pricing and availability.
  1. Order Management:
  • Accurately entering customer orders into the system.
  • Coordinating with staff to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Preparing invoices and processing payments in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of transactions.
  1. Technical Support:
  • Offering technical assistance to customers and staff regarding parts.
  • Working closely with service advisors to ensure correct parts selection.
  • Staying informed about the latest automotive technologies.
  1. Inventory Oversight:
  • Helping maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitoring stock levels and communicating needs to management.
  • Assisting with the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments.
  • Keeping the parts counter organized and presentable.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an automotive parts counter role or similar position is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and parts lookup tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems is a plus.
