As a Food Production Specialist, your role will involve delivering fresh, in-house prepared items such as salads, sandwiches, and pizzas, while upholding departmental and food safety standards.

- Culinary training or relevant work experience in food preparation (preferred)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

What does the role entail?

Food Production Duties:

  • Cuts, slices, dices, and prepares food according to recipe specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Packages, labels, stocks, and rotates in-house products
  • Completes tasks at designated workstations
  • Assists in various food preparation areas
  • Provides support in technical areas and with catering orders as required
  • Performs additional duties as necessary

Food Safety and Sanitation:

  • Adheres to H-E-B's food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Properly manages temperature control for all ingredients, products, and equipment
  • Maintains cleanliness in food preparation areas
  • Safely operates and maintains equipment
  • Collaborates as a team member to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operation

Customer Service:

  • Provides internal customer service
  • Assists Customers as needed
What is your background?

  • Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food preparation and equipment (preferred)
  • Related experience (preferred)
  • Culinary certification or a combination of culinary training and work experience (preferred)

  • Culinary knowledge
  • Understanding of nutritional values and ingredients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient reading and writing skills
  • Ability to execute high-volume production
  • Flexibility to accommodate rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Can you...

  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Work extended hours and/or rotating schedules
  • Safely navigate around moving mechanical parts
  • Stand, walk, reach at waist, and grasp consistently
  • Occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous materials
  • Occasionally perform various physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and lifting
  • Occasionally handle wet, cold, or hot conditions and loud noises
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift 55 lbs and manage over 80 lbs with assistance

It is the responsibility of Partners to never lift beyond their safe lifting capacity. If an item is too heavy to lift, push, pull, or carry, the Partner must break it down into lighter, manageable components or seek assistance from another Partner or a manager.
