Job Summary

Kingfisher Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer SATCOM Subject Matter Expert II to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the installation, planning, and monitoring of SATCOM terminals, including conducting site surveys, developing staging plans, coordinating and monitoring terminal components, and performing onsite inventory management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Terminal Installation and Planning
    • Coordinate with vendors, site personnel, and installation teams to schedule and participate in site surveys.
    • Develop and deliver in and out briefings to customers and SATCOM site leadership.
    • Review and maintain the site survey checklist.
    • Draft, review, and distribute site survey reports.
  • Terminal Operations and Maintenance
    • Perform implementation activities, including coordinating and scheduling site preparation and installation activities with vendors, installers, and appropriate site personnel.
    • Coordinate with post/camp/station authorities to secure necessary approvals for project implementation.
    • Coordinate the disposition of de-installed terminal equipment.
    • Coordinate and monitor transportation arrangements for terminal equipment shipments.
  • Systems Engineering and Support
    • Provide systems engineering for fielded systems, including designing, planning, and documenting upgrades, improvements, and engineering change notices for existing earth terminals.
    • Prepare, review, and comment on engineering change requests and technical data.
    • Coordinate and monitor Configuration Management (CM) tasks.
  • Technical Support and Assistance
    • Provide customer technical assistance and support for all stakeholders on a Tier 3 level.
    • Work with stakeholders to ensure efficient operations that support requirements.
    • Assist in solving problems associated with delivery of hardware and software.
Requirements
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and proven experience in providing technical consultation, training, and support to the Terminals staff.
  • Engineering with in-depth knowledge and proven experience in microwaves, RF theory, earth terminal component selection and evaluation, spectrum analysis, earth terminal planning, implementation and testing procedures.
  • IAT Level II (Security+ (Sec+) preferred)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in SATCOM technologies and standards as they relate to DoD Army PdM WESS mission.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Active Secret Clearance
Travel and Citizenship
  • Up to 10-15% travel required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
