Overview
The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for overseeing the annual budgeting process, managing asset-liability dynamics, optimizing the balance sheet, and executing the overall financial strategies of the Credit Union. This role includes managing accounting, recordkeeping, and financial reporting activities in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles to support GreenState's objectives. The CFO will also oversee the management and reconciliation of the investment portfolio and play a key role in the financial and strategic planning of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a strong focus on member service, both internally and externally.

- Ensure confidentiality of member information.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Lead the annual budget creation process in collaboration with the Leadership Team and present it to the board for approval.
- Manage the asset and liability structure in conjunction with the ALCO team, including:
- Chairing and participating as a voting member of the Asset Liability Committee.
- Engaging in discussions related to loan and deposit product pricing and preparing monthly ALM reports.
- Modeling balance sheet risks and driving actions related to loans and deposits.
- Conducting risk analytics, including stress testing and scenario planning.
- Directing the Asset Liability Committee Report production.
- Keeping the Board and staff informed of relevant ALM outcomes.
- Educating Board and staff on ALM techniques periodically.
- Manage the investment portfolio and asset/liability management policies in collaboration with the President/CEO, reporting to the Board.
- Develop and implement short and long-term strategies for balance sheet optimization.
- Oversee financial planning and analytics, providing insights and direction across the organization.
- Coordinate CPA audits and state and federal examinations.
- Manage the borrowing portfolio of the Credit Union.
- Supervise the preparation and distribution of financial reports.
- Stay updated on financial and industry developments, providing insights and data.
- Monitor staffing needs in accounting and finance, including recruitment and performance evaluations.
- Provide coaching and support to team members, fostering career development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage personnel documentation.
- Track and manage daily scheduling for direct reports.
- Participate in community service and Credit Union events.
- Serve as a voting member of the Commercial/Business Loan Review Committee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; 10-15 years of financial leadership experience required. CPA certification is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Credit Union's financial products and services.
- Experience in a large financial institution with assets exceeding $10B is preferred.
- Experience with Finance Board Committees and proficiency in profitability and pricing models.
- Familiarity with CFPB regulations is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
- Must be bondable.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the President and CEO.
Supervisory Role
This position includes supervisory responsibilities over staff.
