Financial Aid Specialist

As a Financial Aid Technician at Liberty Campus, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the student financial aid process. Your duties will include greeting visitors, answering telephone calls, and disseminating general financial information to students and the public.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating financial aid applications and supporting documents for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Providing information regarding financial aid resources available to students and parents.
- Updating BANNER screens related to the document intake process.
- Instructing students in correct procedures for completing forms and applications.
- Analyzing and determining the status of applications and forms.
Competencies required for this role include:
- Knowledge of student financial aid processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of college, state, and federal student financial aid programs, regulations, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations.
- Skills in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skills in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public.
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- One year of related work experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A college diploma or degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in business, accounting, or a related field.
- One year of work experience in education, business, or a financial aid office.
- Experience with Banner Financial Aid, SURFER, and/or NSLDS.
