Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Radiology Referral Coordinator to join our team at InterMed, P.A. This role is responsible for coordinating imaging exams, communicating with radiologists, and ensuring accurate patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate imaging exams and acquire pre-certification as needed
  • Obtain and compile pertinent medical history and medical necessity for radiologist review
  • Verify and communicate order changes to clinical teams
  • Maintain knowledge of patient prep instructions and provide education to patients and family members
  • Screen patients for contraindications and schedule appointments
  • Coordinate imaging appointments for patients outside of InterMed and perform follow-up
  • Answer and triage incoming calls and requests
  • Request outside records as needed and understand/utilize electronic and computer systems
  • Participate in the onboarding of new team members and perform additional duties as requested by management
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Prior medical office experience preferred
  • Understanding of medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent professional judgment, attention to detail, phone skills, and decision-making ability
  • Professional appearance and approach
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as a team member to accomplish shared objectives and goals
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Forthright and clear communication skills
  • Ability to interact well with radiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, patients, patient family members, and co-workers
