Production Machining and Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

This position requires an individual to perform various duties within the Machine Operation family, including setup, troubleshooting, and operation of machines, as well as safe material handling processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machines, including tool and work piece adjustments, to meet production requirements.
  • Ensure safe material handling processes, including forklift driving and overhead crane operation, to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Execute daily production, quality, and on-time delivery requirements to meet business objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Education or equivalent is required.
  • Basic reading and strong math skills are necessary to perform the functions of the job.
  • 1-3 years of machining experience or machine trades schooling is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Strong mathematical skills are required to perform calculations and measurements.
  • Understanding of technical blueprints and specifications is necessary to interpret and follow instructions.
  • Computer skills, including spreadsheets, data entry, and email, are required for communication and documentation.
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices and work within tight tolerances is essential.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop equipment, including CNC Grinders, Lathes, and Mills, is necessary to perform duties.
  • Successful completion of training and receipt of a Forklift Operator's License is required.

Key Behaviors:

  • Lifting up to 35 lbs. is required, and lifting over 35 lbs. requires a lifting device, crane, or assistance from another associate.
  • Standing and walking for minimum of 8 hours is necessary to perform duties.
  • May work in awkward positions, including bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Assertive and critical thinking skills are necessary to problem-solve and make decisions.
  • Process-driven and good communication skills are essential for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Team-oriented and passionate about delivering high-quality results.
