Job Summary

This Industrial Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Stella-Jones manufacturing plant in Sheridan, Oregon maintains a safe working environment for its employees. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in health and safety management and will be able to develop and implement effective strategies to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting regular health and safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
  • Developing and implementing training programs to educate employees on health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborating with department supervisors and plant employees to ensure health and safety matters are addressed promptly and effectively
  • Maintaining accurate and timely health and safety reporting and recordkeeping
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Two or more years of experience in safety consulting or facility safety management in a manufacturing industry
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Safety Science or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with computers (specifically Microsoft Office) and strong problem-solving skills
  • Critical writing and public speaking skills are essential for effective communication and training delivery
Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive total benefits package including:
