Transportation Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced Transportation Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing our daily operations and ensuring seamless service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation operations management, with experience in supervising hourly employees and managing day-to-day scheduling, counseling, and evaluation reports. Additionally, they will possess excellent verbal, written, and relational communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and the general public.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Communicating job requirements and responsibilities to drivers
- Taking responsibility for day-to-day scheduling, counseling, and evaluation reports
- Conducting on-the-scene accident investigation; assisting drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA Reports and safety violation documents
- Designing and delivering driver training and safety courses; trains new drivers and retrains those involved in accidents
- Observe drivers on the road and correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations
- Liaisons between drivers and both clients and organizations in customer service issues
- Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance, as well as compliance with legal, employment, and Labor policy matters
- Assists Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance regarding drug testing and recordkeeping
- Assists in dispatching, driving, interviewing, and miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed
- Meets all driver qualifications at location
- Obtains a CDL required to operate vehicles at the location, maintains that license, and drives the route periodically
The estimated salary for this position is $21.00 per hour, reflecting the level of expertise and experience required for this role. If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions for any employer at any time and be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
