Position Summary

The Program Assistant plays a vital role within the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties, contributing to the effective functioning of the Learning Community Center. This position encompasses a variety of administrative responsibilities aimed at ensuring seamless operations. The Program Assistant is responsible for welcoming visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining organizational efficiency through strong attention to detail and proactive engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage administrative tasks, including transportation logistics, call screening, email responses, and greeting program participants at the front entrance.
  • Exhibit safe and courteous driving practices while transporting staff and participants.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle.
  • Input data into the database and generate reports as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Establish and maintain transportation systems and procedures, including accurate record-keeping and filing.
  • Ensure that necessary information is readily available to support the efficient operation of the Learning Community Center.
  • Assist with logistical operations, including lifting up to 30 pounds for tasks such as food service and childcare support.
  • Actively engage in team meetings, fostering a collaborative and positive team atmosphere.
  • Provide general assistance for program activities and undertake additional duties as assigned.
