Job Summary

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of plasma from donors. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on donors according to established protocols.
  • Determine donor suitability based on medical and laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs to address medical and technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of donor reactions and other medical incidents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $29.62 - $40.72.
