We're seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Quality and Process Engineer to join our team at ZeroAvia. As a key member of our Quality Function, you will drive a positive and sustainable cultural change to focus on Quality and Safety.

About the Role

This is a critical position that will work closely with our design and operations teams to support the implementation of an aerospace culture internally and the development of the necessary supply chain. You will be responsible for managing design and manufacturing suppliers' qualifications and their development, as well as performing internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Aerospace regulations Part 21, Part 145, PC at FAA level.
  • Working knowledge of safety critical standards ARP-4754B, ARP-4761, DO-254 and DO-178C as quality and process assurance.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9145 quality standards.
  • Guides associates in following ZA's Quality Management System.
  • Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards.
  • Ensures all activities, processes and plans are carried out to the highest quality and accuracy standards.
  • Providing guidance and support on all matters relating to quality assurance, process assurance, certification activities.
  • Review of ZA and supplier design artefacts to ensure development gate reviews and ZA, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and report internal and external audits.
  • Actively participates in root cause analysis on product failures and nonconformances.
  • Tracks supplier response to deliverable milestones, evaluate supplier response, provide feedback to supplier, and ensure closure of 8D.
  • Evaluates potential suppliers by conducting a desktop on-line assessment audit and process capability assessments.
  • Evaluating program new award supplier's PFMEA, Control plan, PPAP to confirm that key characteristics and in process controls are well defined and effective.
  • The ability to perform first article inspections in accordance with AS9102, as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality and Process Engineering or working in Engineering and development environments required.
  • Experience in aerospace systems design and certification ARP's and DO's: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Six Sigma or Op-Ex experience (Preferred)
  • Quality audits: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Proven ability to effectively lead cross functional teams and perform root cause analysis.
  • Lead Auditor or Quality Auditor Certification (CQA) (Preferred)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
  • License/Certification: Supplier Auditing and/or ASQ Auditor Certification (Preferred)
  • Six Sigma Certification (Preferred)
  • Lead Auditor or Quality Auditor Certification (CQA) (Preferred)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
