At VCA Animal Hospitals, we are seeking a skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in Medford, OR.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time opportunity with 4/10 hour shifts. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $48,000 - $54,000, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will have access to competitive wage, medical, dental & vision insurance, generous pet care discounts, life, long and short-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation and sick time, and a 401(k) plan.

About the Role

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, your role will be to create a positive and stress-free environment for our clients and patients while supporting the Doctor and Technician teams. Your hard-earned credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) are valuable to us, and we encourage you to utilize your knowledge and skills in areas such as:

  • Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams
  • Placing and maintaining intravenous catheters
  • Working knowledge of radiation safety
  • Performing radiographs and other diagnostic imaging as ordered
  • Obtaining laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection
  • Performing in-hospital laboratory diagnostics including fecals, urinalysis, differentials, and cytologies
  • Processing lab samples utilizing in-hospital laboratory equipment
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Dentistry
  • Calculating drug dosages accurately
  • Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
  • Maintaining a clean work environment to include following any infectious disease protocols, and handling medical/biomedical, and infectious waste appropriately
Requirements

Required qualification: Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon or eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Oregon.
