Position Overview
The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean. You will help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content, assess student learning outcomes, and maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in your regular teaching field. You will also continue professional development, utilize current technology in the performance of job duties, and maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.

Typical Duties
The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in this discipline. Specific courses offered may vary by campus. Courses for this assignment may include:

  • Introduction to Human Services
  • Ethical Issues and Client's Rights
  • Issues of Diverse Populations

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have a master's degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Guidance Counseling, Educational Counseling, Social Work, or Career Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling; OR a bachelor's degree in any of the above listed degrees AND a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); OR the equivalent. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire. You must also have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
