Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1+ years' experience as a Culinary Specialist in a reputable, high-volume kitchen environment preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs. and maintain a standing/walking position frequently.
  • ServSafe Certification, Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM), or Accredited Food Handler Certificate required within 90 days of employment.
  • Commitment to High Standards of Cleanliness

Position Overview:

As a vital member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking our menu items with the same level of excellence you would apply when cooking for your own family. Your role will involve adhering to our recipes, portion control guidelines, and quality standards, all while prioritizing food safety and creating visually appealing dishes.

What Defines an Exceptional Culinary Specialist?

  • Ability to communicate clearly and present information effectively.
  • Utilization of common sense to execute written and verbal instructions.
  • A high school diploma or GED is a prerequisite.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and performing other meal preparation tasks.
  • Coordinating same-ticket orders to ensure timely completion of all items.
  • Adhering to standard recipes, production sheets, and line checks.
  • Assessing food preparation processes and suggesting improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Implementing labeling, dating, initialing, and rotation procedures.
  • Stocking workstations before and after each shift.
  • Carrying out opening, closing, and side duties as necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and cooking areas.
  • Handling food and equipment in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Meeting or exceeding time standards for the completion of all orders.
  • Employing progressive cooking techniques to ensure optimal product quality.
  • Ensuring food safety by following proper food handling practices—keeping hot food hot and cold food cold.
  • Following specified cleaning protocols for all cooking equipment and adhering to proper food storage practices—covering, labeling, and dating.
  • Properly stacking and storing dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and food storage containers.
  • Maintaining clean and dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Assisting with inventory management as required.
  • Removing all waste and maintaining kitchen machinery cleanliness.
