Position: Dietary Cook

Join our Food Nutrition Service Team at NHC, where we promote teamwork and provide opportunities in a culinary environment within the healthcare sector. The Dietary Cook is responsible for executing specific tasks to uphold exceptional standards of food preparation, production, service, and portion control, utilizing standardized recipes for all patrons.

Position Highlights:
  • Assists in the reception and storage of food and supplies to minimize waste and ensure quality products. Properly dates, labels, and stores items while adhering to appropriate food handling practices.
  • Reviews menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets prior to meal preparation; accurately and attractively prepares and serves diets as planned, utilizing proper portions and special dietary items.
  • Follows standardized recipes and special dietary orders, ensuring sufficient quantities are prepared to meet all service demands.
  • Responsible for testing and tasting foods of various consistencies to ensure proper appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Manages the timing of meal and snack preparation to align with service schedules, ensuring all meals and snacks are served punctually.
  • Verifies trays for accuracy of diets, preferences, and quality before delivery. Participates in tray line service and delivers carts as required.
