Accounting Assistant Role at Bank of Marin

Bank of Marin, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join its Finance and Accounting Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Accounting department by performing a variety of moderately complex office/accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts with various statements, prepare and post journal entries, and scan and file as necessary.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process by researching past patterns and budgeting for future expectations on lower-level accounts.
  • Backup Accounts Payable Lead, reviewing for accuracy – vouchers, invoices, checks, and obtaining approval for payments.
  • Review and process employee expense reimbursements for payment based on Bank policies and procedures.
  • Compile documentation to assist the Accounting department with both internal and external audits.
  • Extract general ledger information and compile support to assist in the preparation of various required reports.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and memos.
  • Math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

Education and Experience:

An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college with coursework in accounting is preferred. 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

The hiring pay range for this position is $24.66 to $35.04 per hour. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors, including geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
