Position Overview:

The role involves executing month-end responsibilities including journal entries, labor and expense evaluations, sales and cost of goods sold analysis, as well as balance sheet account reconciliations.

In addition, the position encompasses accounting tasks related to inventory receipt confirmations, accounts payable data scrutiny, and general administrative support.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Verify inventory receipt data against packing lists and maintain relevant documentation.
  2. Process incoming accounts payable invoices using the designated system and facilitate the approval workflow.
  3. Organize and archive accounts payable invoices along with supporting documents.
  4. Analyze and generate monthly reports concerning manufacturing variances and purchase price discrepancies.
  5. Assess the accuracy of purchased material standard costs and monitor all changes in standard costs and selling prices.
  6. Assist in conducting quarterly physical inventory counts and manage annual fixed asset inventory tagging as necessary.
  7. Compile and disseminate information regarding scrap materials.
  8. Oversee the inventory value report for any irregularities and execute adjustments as required.
  9. Fulfill month-end accounting close responsibilities including journal entries, health insurance reviews, labor analysis, and intercompany charge assessments.
  10. Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

Additional Responsibilities for Development Opportunities:
  1. Assist with payroll processes within the organization and act as a liaison between employees and the payroll department regarding timekeeping, supplemental pay, and garnishments.
  2. Generate internal payroll reports, including overtime data, for management review.
  3. Support both internal and external audit requests and reporting requirements.
  4. Assist with special requests and reporting as needed.
  5. Collaborate with Production Control and Manufacturing on BOM audits and participate in BOM cost breakdowns.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an accounting role within a manufacturing setting.

Skills:
  • Proficient knowledge of fundamental cost accounting, business finance, standard costing, and inventory valuation.
  • Understanding of the interplay between cost accounting and data processing.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent customer service skills for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain financial records and logs, particularly in Excel.
  • Capability to research and compile data for reports and summaries.
  • Strong initiative and sound judgment for efficient task completion.
  • Thorough knowledge of company accounting and financial reporting policies.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and terminology.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.

Language Proficiency:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is advantageous.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:

Open office environment with a moderate noise level.


Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to talk, see, and hear. The individual must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing, and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
