Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Laboratory Assistant to join our team at HCA HealthONE Rose. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all technical procedures and maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols pertinent to the department.
  • Maintain proficiency in performance of technical procedures, including venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients of all ages.
  • Collect and process specimens on patients of all ages as required.
  • Perform test requests and chart results on patients with many different clinical conditions.
  • Assist in the department's clerical duties.
  • Serve as a customer service representative for the lab on the phone and in person.
  • Perform the required function verification of equipment.
Requirements
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or better.
  • Healthcare experience as a phlebotomist, 1-2 years preferred, and/or completion of formal phlebotomy class preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely with coworkers, physicians, nursing staff, and patients.
  • Above-average manual dexterity.
  • Ability to type proficiently (at least 30 words per minute) on the computer.
