Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients and transporting them to our laboratory for analysis. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection.
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis, ensuring that they are properly labeled and handled.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to ensure that specimens are collected and processed correctly.
  • Maintain accurate records of specimen collection and processing, including patient information and test results.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and procedures.
Requirements
  • Three years of experience in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
