This position encompasses semester-based classroom instruction along with necessary planning time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver ESL instruction to adults utilizing effective pedagogical techniques
  • Conduct classes at various off-site venues within the metropolitan area
  • Foster a nurturing educational atmosphere for all students
  • Collaborate with Family Literacy personnel on parent enrichment initiatives
  • Act as a positive representative of the college to community stakeholders
  • Assist with student registration, orientation, and technology workshops
  • Work in partnership with fellow educators to achieve program objectives
  • Engage in student outreach and adhere to institutional policies
  • Manage record-keeping and reporting responsibilities
  • Participate in professional development sessions
  • Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related discipline
  • TESOL certification or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in teaching adult learners
  • Familiarity with ESL and adult education methodologies
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Capacity to thrive in high-pressure environments
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
Employment Terms

This role is part-time, semester-based, and does not include benefits. Teaching locations will be off-site within the metropolitan area. Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour.
