About the Opportunity

Urban League of Portland is seeking a highly skilled Membership Programs Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Membership department, you will play a critical role in acquiring, engaging, and retaining our members, who are the backbone of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and create timely, accurate, and engaging communications to support member retention, including mail, email, and telemarketing efforts.
  • Develop and execute strategies to cultivate and steward our members, including retention-focused events and other cultivation activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective execution of matching gift, employee giving, and vehicle donation programs.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of member retention and communications strategies, working collaboratively with the Membership team.
Requirements
  • Four years of professional experience in an administrative, customer service, or project management role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two years of marketing or non-profit fundraising experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with OPB staff, donors, leaders, and vendors in a professional and well-informed manner.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce or other database systems to select and export accurate customer data.
  • Fluency with standard computer software tools in business applications, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, with experience authoring copy for marketing or development emails, letters, blogs, landing pages, or other solicitation or donor communications.
  • Experience managing small event logistics and coordinating event teams.
  • Experience in a fundraising setting or working with donors in a non-profit environment or high-level clients in a corporate workplace.
  • Familiarity with the Oregon and Southern Washington market, as well as public media and its mission.
What We Offer

Urban League of Portland offers a competitive salary range of $56,000 - $66,000, depending on qualifications, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is an exempt position, and the successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
