Job Summary

The Assembly Technician position is a critical role in our production process, responsible for fabricating electro-mechanical subassemblies and products in accordance with assembly instructions and drawings. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all assigned work is performed in accordance with company safety procedures and policies.
  • Visually inspect Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for physical defects and reject faulty assemblies, parts, or components.
  • Notify the Production Manager when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
  • Troubleshoot non-conforming or non-performing assemblies to the component level.
  • Train and assist other assembly technicians to increase their skill level.
  • Maintain proficiency in the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and performance specifications.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with project engineers on findings and potential root cause failures.
  • Promote a positive work environment for all production employees.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent military background and training.
  • IPC-A-610B Soldering Certification preferred but not required.
  • 3 years related product assembly experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with satellite transceivers, with a strong Radio Frequency (RF) background is a plus.
  • Ability to use measurement devices such as multi-meters, calipers, thread gauges, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to achieve daily objectives.
  • Must be Results-Driven.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Physical Working Environment

The Assembly Technician will work in an environment where electronic assembly, test, and verification are the primary activities. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, but at times may be loud. The employee may be required to lift small to medium-sized boxes and containers of up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
